HEARDS is a Non-profit Organisation which is initiated and registered in the year 1999 under the Societies Registration Act., 1860, bearing registration. No. 363/99, with a concern about the marginalisation and poverty of a large section of our people especially in rural areas the society initiated its work in Chittoor District of Andhra Pradesh. It has also been registered U/s 12 A and U/s 80G (5) (vi) of the Income Tax Act, 1961.  Registered under the Foreign Contribution Regulation Act and bearing the permanent Registration No: 010160317

HEARDS is the abbreviation of “Health Education Adoption Rehabilitation Development Society”.  Eminent persons in the field of education, social work and developmental interventions initiated it.  Since its inception HEARDS is making interventions in the area of child laborers, child rights, women rights, women development, sustainable agricultural development, protection of environment,  health, education, architecture, culture, microfinance, rural development, disaster reduction etc.  HEARDS conduct these programmes without regard to faith, origin or gender.

In India, 250 million children work to support their families’ meager incomes.  Magnitude of child employment in Chittoor area is such an alarming.		The women and adolescent girls from the underprivileged communities in Chittoor traditionally do the housework at home and rarely attend school.		Water being one of the basic essential needs for cultivation of crops, this drip irrigation programme aims at supplying adequate supply of water to the poor villagers
