Past Projects
Adult Literacy Programme:
HEARDS has conducted Adult Literacy Programme with 5 Centers in Chittoor urban area to all the adult illiterates especially women. We have not only educated our illiterate people in this area but also motivated and conscientised them to cooperate and expand their energies and use their talents for the community development, our animators have inculcated in them the need for self-sacrifice, giving and taking for the welfare of their neighbors. They have also conscientised them to come together for discussing, planning and for the launching of schemes for their uplift and well being and also actively participated in the implementation of these projects.
Campaign for Education:
To awaken interest among the parents on the importance of Education, a Campaign for Education was organized in urban area. Pamphlets printed, groups visited almost all the streets with slogan to send their children to the schools. The urban level meetings were also conducted in which the importance of education was explained very vividly. Many local teachers, youths and school children participated in the programme and it was a great effort to sensitize the parents who are illiterates towards sending their children to the schools.
Health and sanitary programme:
Our organisation is actively conducting various medical programs for the backward community children such as putting polio drops, triple vaccine, small pox vaccine and providing health education to the backward community children. The Indian Medical Association has rewarded our vice-chairman for her excellence in the field of medical service. She has also conducted awareness programme on AIDS in Chittoor District with the cooperation of local doctors and distributed condoms to the needy people. In this programme the chronic and complicated disease are fully considered. The project area sanitation is also motivated through the orientation training. Now we are also conducting medical rehabilitation programme every month for the children of the child labor rehabilitation centers.
Environment Awareness Programme:
HEARDS has conducted an awareness programme on environment in 10 Villages of Chittoor District. Here we had covered 3 important awareness topics namely (1) Sustainable Agriculture (2) Food Security and (3) Waste Management. To cover the above said we conducted programs like padayatra, rally and supplying leaflets to the people. The tree plantations have trained and adopted during this period. Garbage and other waste products are used for agricultural purposes like sustainable land development have conducted during this environment programme.
Awareness programme on watersheds:
As there is a crying need for water scarcity and most of the people were migrating to towns because of lack of water. Due to this water scarcity the people were not able to cultivate their own lands. Basically this is purely due to water scarcity. Here they doesn’t know the scientific technique of watershed programme and so HEARDS has conducted an awareness campaign on this topic in our working area. Basically this programme is successful because the entire Chittoor District itself is declared as drought hit area.
Seminars & Workshops on Human Rights Issues:
HEARDS has conducted seminars and workshops on Human Rights issues especially on Dalit and Minority Rights. Create awareness and support for Dalit Human Rights by highlighting the issues of Dalit Human Rights in civil society and also to strengthen the unity and solidarity of Dalits and Minority movements across the nation and the world. Prepare status reports on Dalits and Minorities covering the areas of Livelihood, Education, Land & Labour, Gender, Equity for Dalit Women, Life & Security, and Reservation & Employment. Pressurize statutory bodies of the UN and other international organizations to give top priority to Dalit issues. To highlight the culture and contribution of Dalit and Minority Communities to society.
Support Services to Government Programs:
Our village members were committed totally for the Janmabhoomi program by helping for the road constructions and the basic result is that they have constructed new roads. They also participated actively in Neeru – Meeru programme for their welfare. All our SHG members were actively participated in this program.
